PROJECTS

 

Thank you to everyone who submitted project proposals for the 2016/2017 school year.   



To date, the Victoria Gold Yukon Student Encouragement Society has raised and awarded $185,989 to 36 local
grassroots projects designed to encourage students throughout the territory to improve their attendance at school.

2013 Projects

 

In 2013, schools, school councils and First Nations across the territory were invited to submit proposals to the Every Student, Every Day Fund.

 

Twenty-two (22) proposals totaling over $182,000 were received and considered by a selection committee made up of representatives from the Victoria Gold Yukon Student Encouragement Society, Yukon Education, Yukon Health & Social Services, Yukon College and the Association of Yukon School Councils, Boards and Committees (AYSCBC).

      

A total of $50,000, raised by the Victoria Gold Yukon Student Encouragement Society, was awarded to the following 11 recipients:

2016 Projects


For the 4th consecutive year, the Victoria Gold Yukon

Student Encouragement Society and Yukon Education

invited schools, Yukon First Nations and communities to

submit applications for funding to support projects through

the Society’s Every Student, Every Day to help address student

attendance challenges in the territory.
 
In April 2016, during Education Week, a committee with representatives from the VGYSES, Yukon Education and the Association of Yukon School Councils, Boards and committees selected the following eight (8) proposals.  A total of $40,000 was awarded. 

2015 Projects


For the third consecutive year, the Victoria Gold Yukon Student Encouragement Society and Yukon Education invited schools, Yukon First Nations and communities to submit applications for funding to support projects through the Society’s Every Student, Every Day initiative to help address student attendance challenges in the territory.


In early April 2015, a committee with representatives from the VGYSES, Yukon Education and the Association of Yukon School Councils, Boards and Committees selected the following ten (10) projects.  A total of $49,865 was awarded.

 

2014 Projects

     

For the second year, the Victoria Gold Yukon Student Encouragement Society and Yukon Education invited schools, Yukon First Nations and communities to submit applications for funding to support projects through the Society’s  Every Student, Every Day to help address student attendance challenges in the territory.

 

On April 10, 2014 a committee with representatives from the VGYSES, Yukon Education and the Association of Yukon School Councils, and Boards selected the following seven (7) proposals.  A total of $46,124 was awarded this year.
